Cllr Andrew Pinnock (Lib Dem, Cleckheaton Ward)
Complaints about the condition of the paths and drives at Cleckheaton Cemetery on Whitechapel Road has resulted the council promising to fund £20K of improvement works there later this year.
Cllr Andrew Pinnock (Lib Dem, Cleckheaton Ward) and his ward colleagues have been working to secure this investment after receiving numerous complaints about the drives and pathways over the winter months.
The works will include two of the drives being resurfaced with tarmac and a further drive improved with road plainings.
Cllr Andrew Pinnock (Lib Dem, Cleckheaton Ward) said:
"The condition of the drives in the new cemetery has been something many local people have raised with us over the winter months. Two of the drives become very muddy which is unpleasant for people who want to pay respects to their loved ones. This sizeable investment should set things right. I am sure local people will be pleased with the results. We encourage local people to come to us with their suggestions for improving the area. As in this case, it can lead to real changes for the better."
