Local Dewbsury West Lib Dem Councillors Naz Hussain and Karam Hussain have welcomed long waited investement.
Cllr Naz Hussain (Lib Dem) said:
"This is wonderful news coming after what seems an age of waiting. The idea of creating a new crematorum in Dewsbury was first put forward when we last controlled the council in 2006; so it really has taken an extrodinary amount of time to reach this stage. The previous conservative adminstation dragged their heals relentlessly and I can only say that I am glad that things are finally moving on."
Cllr Karam Hussain (Lib Dem) said:
"I'm very, very pleased. The people of Dewsbury deserve a first class facilty in their local area which they can use to say goodbye to loved ones in a peaceful, tanquil and comforting environment. Well done to the Cabinet for moving the issue forward at such pace."
