Colne Valley Councillor calls public meeting to share report with local campaigners
Kirklees Cabinet is getting ready to make a decision on the long term future of the Colne Valley Taxi Bus. A report making recommendations about whether the rural service that links Slaithwaite, Wilberlee, Pole Moor, Outlane, Scapegoat Hill and the Crimble should stay in the road is being prepared by officers for decision in December (1).
Cllr Nicola Turner (Liberal Democrat, Colne Valley Ward) - who has been working with local campaigners to try and secure the long term future of the rural service over the past 12 months - has called a public meeting to share the findings of the report with local people and to give them the chance to put their views to the Council and METRO.
The Taxi Bus meeting will take place on Monday 3rd December at Slaithwaite Methodist Church starting at 6.00pm.
Cllr Turner said:
"The meeting has been called to share the findings of the report with everyone and to give them the chance to put their views to the council and to METRO. If people don't agree with what they hear, they need speak to up. Local people have been at the heart of the campaign and I hope that everyone who has been involved in the fight to keep the service will attend."
