Kirklees Council is set to award funding for the next three years to a triple bill of community events run annually in the Colne Valley.
Long term funding for the Marsden Jazz and Ibolc (fire) festivals and the Slaithwaite Moonraking festival is set to be given approval at the meeting of Kirklees Cabinet on Wednesday 23rd April. As part of the funding agreement the events will receive support from officers at the council's Arts and Creative Economy Development Unit.
Cllr Maragaret Fearnley says:
"I am very happy to learn that the annual festivities in Marsden and Slaithwaite are going to be guaranteed until 2011. They are important local events celebrating the spirit and heritage of the local area and they're really great fun. I would encourage any one who has not attended before to come along".
