Response to statement made by chair of kirklees active leisure
Responding to the statement issued by the Chair of Kirklees Active Leisure -following the decision by Kirklees Scrutiny Management Committee not to investigate the running of the publicly funded body - Cllr David Woodhead said:
"I am pleased that the Chair of KAL has responded to our concerns that the matters were seen to be properly investigated. However, there are still issues about the way KAL accounts for its actions to the council and the ways in which councillors can be kept informed of what is happening internally. KAL is a publicly funded body and its operations must be transparent to scrutiny by local people. We are united in ensuring that leisure facilities in Kirklees are well run and deliver a quality services for all its residents and visitors."
