Councillor Roger Battye, Lib Dem Dalton Ward
A cash injection of £80k is being used to build new changing facilities at Standiforth Playing Fields, Dalton. Huddersfield South Area Committee has approved funding for the replacement of the old changing rooms which were closed in 2003. Along with the new changing rooms a fence has also been installed to prevent motorbikes gaining entry onto the pitch.
Councillor Roger Battye (Lib Dem Dalton Ward) said: "The new changing room will be a real boost for the people using the playing fields. Now the players will not be forced to change in their cars on the car park. It could lead to even more people using this playing field in the future.
"I am really pleased that the Area Committee members backed this scheme, which will benefit a large number of local sports teams."
