The Cleckheaton Hopper Bus service began in December 2007 and has received huge support from local residents.
Cleckheaton Councillors have surveyed residents to ask for comments on the service, and have received positive feedback. Comments included on the forms include "the Hopper service is brilliant", "the driver is so friendly", "it's so handy, much easier than using the car" and all are "very grateful for the service".
One hundred people a week use the service which runs three days a week every hour between 10.00am and 2.00pm. This has far exceeded Metro's estimated numbers.
Cllr Pinnock said: "I am very pleased that people are using the Hopper Bus and are happy with the service. The comments received from the resident surveys are very uplifting.
"The fact that the number of people using the bus has exceeded Metro estimates proves that the service is necessary. It also goes some way towards encouraging people to use public transport and leave their cars at home."
