START ON NEW PARKING FOR HOWARD PARK RESIDENTS
Cleckheaton councillors today welcomed the news that work will start on 8 October to provide "proper" car parking for residents at the Feast Ground end of Howard Park. Highways assure us it will be finished before Christmas.
Cllr Kath Pinnock said, "These improvements have come as a result of the discussions with local residents around the plans for the new school for Whitcliffe Road. Residents raised a lot of concerns about the impact of the school plans on their facilities. So we had a series of discussions with local people and a meeting on site and as a result the Council agreed to:
• provide 26 'Permit Holder Only' car parking spaces;
• widen Howard Park and provide a turning head for vehicles; and
• put in new street lighting.
