Yorkshire water is now undertaking further investigations looking at the surface drains to ensure that the problem is definitely under control
A problem with overflowing drains on Pyenot Hall Lane, Cleckheaton looks like it has finally been resolved after Yorkshire Water instructed Barrett Homes to take action.
Over the past several months raw sewage has overflowed from roadside drains on Pyenot Hall Lane during heavy downpours leaving a nasty mess for residents and the council to clean up.
Cllr Raistrick says: "I was approached by residents about this problem and liaised with Kirklees and Yorkshire Water on their behalf in order to push for a solution".
Cllr Raistrick says: "Yorkshire Water sent fibre optic cameras down the drains and identified what they believed to be the cause of the problem. They then contacted Barrett Homes asking them to take steps".
Cllr Raistrick concluded: "Yorkshire water is now undertaking further investigations looking at the surface drains to ensure that the problem is definitely under control"
Cllr Raistrick says: "Residents on Pyenot Hall Lane have been very patient."
Cllr Raistrick concludes: "With new houses there is always the chance of a problem such as this, but the important thing is that something has been done to sort it out".
